Across The Bridge: Cavallo Point is San Francisco’s Hidden Gem

Guess what? I was featured as a contributor for Redfin’s Hidden Gems in San Francisco Bay Area.

Before we dive in…you can check it out here!

As a San Francisco Bay Area photographer for the last 7 years I have had the opportunity to scope out some really amazing photoshoot locations. I adore scouting new locations and being able to introduce my clients to beautiful gems around the Bay Area, many of which they didn’t even know existed!

Whether it’s just around the corner from your work, or down a path at a park you’ve visited in the past, or maybe a location you’ve never been near before. You’re in luck because I have a pretty extensive list of locations to pull from when clients book with me. I would be happy to help you find the perfect location based on the looks you are looking for, your comfort level, the time of day you want to have the session, the adventure level you’re seeking, etc.

In the fall/winter I will often choose some of my top outdoor locations and host fall mini sessions or holiday/winter minis there.

I love the Bay Area because of how versatile it is! One location you have a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, while another you could be surrounded by beautiful greenery, trees, and blooming gardens and it looks like we’ve been transported somewhere else. (like Lover’s Lane!)

But today I’m diving a little bit deeper and telling you about Cavallo Point in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, which made my list of gems, and Redfin’s as well.

What’s all the buzz about?

This viewpoint across the bridge is such a great place to capture the beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge. You'll get the signature look of the Bay Area fog and the Golden Gate Bridge right behind you.

Don’t take my word for it… hear more about Cavallo Point from Cavallopoint.com. You can check it out for your next family outing, or for your family photos with a Bay Area photographer.

Cavallo Point is actually inside one of the largest national parks in the world (Golden Gate National Recreation Area) that features a handful of San Francisco landmarks that you don’t want to miss.

You could spend days exploring this park if you really wanted. Which is why doing your research on where and what you want to see before you go is paramount. But rest assured, Cavallo Point is already well-researched for you and it’s coming HIGHLY recommended!

San Francisco is a city known for its iconic landmarks, breathtaking locations, and delicious food  – The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Twin Peaks, Botanical Gardens, Legion of Honor, Sutro Baths, Lombard Street, etc. But the more you get to know the city, the more there is a lot to uncover.

If you’re looking to venture off the beaten path and try something new, Redfin reached out to local experts, including us, to share our favorite hidden gems in San Francisco. From hidden parks to local restaurants to secret locations, these are places you won’t want to miss.
